two months young...

Charlotte is two months and one day!
11 lbs 2 oz ~ 60th percentile
22 1/2 " inches ~ 60th percentile

Loves...
- smiling and cooing
- playing on her play mat/gym
- her swing sometimes
- being bounced
- only one certain binkie
- seeing Mom and Dad as soon as she wakes up
- taking long naps on Mom's chest
- licking anything close to her mouth (usually our shirts)
- sucking on her fists
- car and stroller rides
- stretching out with her bootie pushed out
- her forehead and nose stroked
- having her diaper changed
- her daily oral vitamin

Hates...
- having clothes pulled over her head or arms
- falling asleep for the night
- being put in her car seat at first
- straight formula, we have to mix it with breast milk
- tummy time
- having lotion put on

we had to wait forever at the doctor's office for her shots - she was luckily entertained by the cords above her head
cozy in the car seat with the only binkie she likes
kicking booty with tummy time

helping Mama cook in the kitchen
this day she was super clingy to me so I took her to get the laundry downstairs - I couldn't hold her and the laundry basket so I put her on top and carried her up and she fell asleep
below is a video of her waking up in the morning - so stinkin cute... it's a little long but the ending is the best

more from week 8 and some craftiness

I took these first two today and had to post them because they're just too cute.

She's doing a jig in this picture.
This is a quick picture I took when she was in a mid-tantrum.
My ever so crafty family is amazing. They're always whipping something out for my house. My Mom made the quilt, window panel, and is almost done with the bedding. My sister Laura made the abc picture. She stole the idea from The Land of Nod. And my other sister Carrie decorated the photo frame.

weeks 7 and 8

Here is a random assortment of pictures from the last week and a half of little Charlotte's life. She's already 7 1/2 weeks. She's starting to coo and smile a ton which is so much fun. We love love love this little girl.

Last night we bought a play gym and she loves it. She'll last a good 30 minutes staring at all of the toys and kicking her little feet.

Her little legs were a moving and grooving.

We went to Detroit over the weekend and went to a car show. She hung out in this thing the whole time and did awesome until she had a major blow out which got her screaming which gave her a heat rash because she got so worked up and angry... awesome.
Not too happy about getting in the car.
It took five hours to drive to Detroit. She slept the entire way except a 10 minute bottle break. Once we got to the hotel she laid like this and stretched out forever.

Here she is on our road trip just chillin.
Having another good stretch one random evening.

Week 6

Little Charlotte is almost six weeks old! It's back to being just her and I. Ben started his family medicine rotation this week and everyone else has gone home. On Monday she went with me to my school to meet my students and other teachers. She then was my shopping buddy for a little while and was an angel with Ben when he watched her while I went to the gym. Tuesday rolls around and she is a crying machine ALL DAY! Holy cow, I almost lost my mind. Today she's been chill - hallelujah.
one full belly
starting to like her swing more and more

this is her waking up this morning, just waiting for me to get her with squeaks and little whimpers

after a warm and toasty bath
this was her second real bath and she loved it
not too thrilled about her picture being taken after church - I mohawked her hair and Ben said she looked like a boy rocker from the 80's... I thought she looked cute but whatever

a quiet house

We just got back from dropping off our last family member to the airport. =( Over the last week and a half we've had Ben's family and mine in town for Christmas and New Year's. We've really only had a week and a half of Charlotte's five week old self where it was just the three of us. Although we miss our families, it'll be nice to have things settle down and get time alone with our little one.
just relaxing after a day of shopping at the outlets
the hat's not for next winter but I couldn't resist
(yes, Crystal that's the onesie you just sent =)

my sister Laura and Charlotte chillin and 'watching t.v.'
being scrumptious
'yelling' at Ben when he tried to take away the remote =)
